Time certainly does fly when you're having fun and it's hard to keep up! It's difficult to recall what we've been up to these past few weeks. Aunt Caitlin came up Halloween weekend to run a half marathon in the city. We had a great visit with her and enjoyed cheering her on. Grandpa and Aunt Jean also stopped by to visit that weekend on their way to Maine, and we enjoyed spending time with them. We were back in New York the following weekend for Will's friend Katerina's baptism into the Greek Orthodox Church. It was a very cool ceremony to witness, and we were so glad to see our friends and visit with their families. Ever since meeting Mike and eating his mom's cooking, Dave has wished he were Greek. Wilson loved all the Greek ladies so much that I think he now feels the same way. While home in New York Wilson also got to hang out with his cousins, and we especially enjoyed seeing Chelsea and her budding personality. Wilson also earned his first dollar bill for sitting next to Grandpa at the dinner table, which is a big deal in the Callahan family.
Wilson started swimming lessons a few weeks ago, and Dave says he absolutely loves it! Apparently, even though he's the youngest baby in his class, he's also the loudest. Luckily it's all happy sounds. Wilson is babbling now and it sounds like he's made up his own language. His vocabulary is increasing and he comes out with new sounds almost every day. We love to hear him call Millie, which sounds like Me-ee. He is still chasing her around and has become quite a quick crawler. Needless to say, she has learned how to leap over the baby gates! Wilson loves flipping through the pages of his board books, and is drawn to these almost more than any of his other toys. We often find him dancing and bopping his head to music. He loves to dance in Mommy and Daddy's arms as well. We have recently instituted naked time for Wilson in the evenings before he goes to bed. It makes him so happy when we strip off his pants and let him scoot around. It's also a way for us to get around his not sitting still for diaper or wardrobe changes. We put everything on one piece at a time, and take everything off the same way. Getting dressed takes longer than ever now! We had to figure out how to lock the keypad on the dishwasher earlier this week because Wilson likes to stand up there and push the buttons. Thank goodness for that feature! Wilson's big accomplishment of the weekend was learning to raise his hands when we yell "Touchdown!" We just haven't yet been able to capture it on film. Maybe next week...
