The month of March has been very mild so far. We have been out in the stroller several times this week enjoying the sun and warmth. I prefer the quiet, serene route through the cemetery, but Wilson likes a louder, wilder scene, so we've stuck to the sidewalks along the main roads. He loves to call out to doggies, runners, and bicyclists, and point at the passing cars. Now that he's walking we can be outside with him more, and he's getting used to making his way around on the grass. We went to the neighborhood park this afternoon and he even helped with yardwork some!
We lost power in a major wind storm last weekend. Wilson fared better over the 2 1/2 days than his parents did. We spent a lot of time at friends' houses, all with dogs, and Wilson really loved that.
I was off on school vacation two weeks ago. Our big outings included swimming at the YMCA and eating out. We haven't taken Wilson to a restaurant in a few months, and he was great! I think it helped that there were two cute girls his age in high chairs nearby, but we stayed awhile and he was happy the entire time. (This ended up being good practice for when the power went out and we HAD to eat out a few times!)
Wilson has recently begun to exhibit a preference for his daddy, which mostly just hurts my feelings and makes me jealous. However, if I really think about it, it's great that Wilson gets to spend so much time with his dad and that they're as close as they are. At least that's what I'll tell myself the next time Wilson falls down and gets hurt and reaches out for his daddy when I try to pick him up. Summer vacation will be here before too long and I can try to regain my position!
