We had a great family day last Sunday celebrating my first Mother's Day and Wilson's four month birthday. Mima also came up to visit that day, and stayed to take care of Wilson for the first half of the week. Dave's mom was up the week before to help in the same way. Dave is taking a firefighter instructor course, so we've had to ask for extra help in taking care of the baby. Wilson loved spending time with and getting extra attention from both of his grandmothers.
A lot has happened over the past few weeks. I was home for a week on school break. We took Wilson for his first formal photo shoot. Although he was a little slow to warm up, by the end he was such a ham! We got some precious shots for the grandmothers for Mother's Day gifts. Wilson's friend Squirt was born almost two weeks ago, and we are excited to meet her at the end of the month. We also found out that his little friend Pumpkin is going to be a girl! Daddy told Wilson that it's good to have a girlfriend in each state so they never find out about each other. :)
Wilson went to the doctor on Friday for his 4-month checkup. He is up to 14 pounds and 25 inches. The doctor said we could start trying him on rice cereal, so that was our big adventure over the weekend. We thought his increased fussiness over the past few weeks was due to teething, but the doctor said he may just be hungry. Hopefully the cereal helps! Wilson also endured his second round of shots, but was reportedly quite the tough guy. Daddy says they must have been "happy" shots because Wilson has been full of joy ever since!
His new thing is grabbing for his feet and rolling from side to side. He fussed in the car on the way home from the sitter's today because he couldn't get a good enough grip on them while buckled into his car seat. He kills me! Wilson has also been talking up a storm lately. The past few night when I read him Goodnight Moon at bedtime he "reads" along with me while resting his hand on mine. Too cute! We couldn't love him any more!
