We had such a fun time celebrating Wilson's birthday this weekend. All the Callahans and Quicks came to visit. Our house was unusually crazy and busy and I think Wilson preferred it that way. He had a blast playing with his cousins. One of the highlights was snapping the first picture of the four of them together. It's been impossible to get them all to cooperate until that one lucky moment! Wilson enjoyed the company of his family and two of his friends. He LOVED the balloons and was mesmerized by them for much of the afternoon/evening (and is still playing with them now that they've moved down to his height!). Wilson liked eating baked ziti and liked looking at his ducky cake. I think he even liked smushing the cake and frosting between his fingers. However, I'm not sure that "like" can be used to describe how he felt towards tasting his cake. He fussed and whined and almost cried at a few different points (check out the pictures!). He may have been surprised by the sweetness. Or possibly he was just disappointed it wasn't chocolate. Hopefully he can explain himself in a few years. It was a heck of a party and we're grateful for all the new toys and outfits Wilson received.
