I have been very lax in updating this lately, but my disbelief in the length of Wilson's existence has prompted me to take action! He celebrated the 7-month marker by going out to lunch with Grandma and Pop. We were home in New York on an unexpected trip to meet his newest cousin, Chelsea Mary Callahan, who was born late Friday night. She is so tiny and precious, and her big sisters Riley and Addison couldn't be more proud or helpful.
Wilson has done very well in sustaining the craziness that has been our life over the past few weeks. He went to his first baseball game at Fenway Park. That was a great success thanks in part to seats in the shade, a cool breeze, a nap in the Bjorn and friendly people all around. The Sox even pulled off a win. Last weekend we went to Long Island to visit Lisa and Tim. It was our hope to get to the beach, but the weather didn't cooperate. Instead, we visited the arboretum and enjoyed some quality relaxation. Wilson has spent a lot of time in the car with all of this traveling, but he has been such a good sport!
Only three more weeks until my summer vacation is over. I dread leaving this little guy. I will so miss all the time I get to spend with him every day (but not the poopy diapers - Dad, they're all yours!). Wilson is now eating applesauce and prunes and bananas. We tried peas and he was absolutely disgusted by them. We tried to get a picture to document his reaction, but as soon as he saw the camera he smiled! We are going to try green beans tomorrow thanks to Mima, who gave us some fresh ones from her garden. We're hoping for a low-key week before we head up to Maine for a vacation with our Alfred friends. Wilson is wicked psyched for his week-long playdate with Katerina!
