20 months old

Wilson keeps getting older. Every time I look at him lately I think, "You are such a big boy!" He has really become quite independent. I am amazed at how many things he can do on his own. He has been able to feed himself for quite some time now, drinking from a glass and using a spoon and fork. He has started to stand on a step stool in the bathroom to brush his teeth. He quickly figured out that he can carry the stool around to any other part of the house and use it to get up high, like when he wants to help mom or dad cook. Wilson climbs the stairs to bed each night and likes to set the room up himself, turning on the nightlight, turning on the sound machine, and playing his music. The only thing I'm really good for anymore is changing diapers.

Wilson is really into playing with his toys lately and using them for their intended purpose. He makes magnificent towers with his blocks, he arranges his farm animals in their barn, and he'll sit forever in his sandbox, using a shovel to fill a pail with sand, dumping it out and starting all over again. He likes throwing balls and kicking balls and still loves leafing through his books. Wilson is obsessed with firetrucks, airplanes, John Deere tractors and owls. He's got sounds for all of these and is really good at spotting them and mimicking them when he's out and about.

He has always been a lot of fun, but I feel like that just keeps multiplying. He is such a good-natured, happy, affectionate, funny kid and it's such a pleasure to be around him. His language skills are growing every day and it's so fun to hear him try to repeat us and say new words. I so look forward to all his new tricks!
